- The 2nd stanza mentions pray for the soldier that now has troubles because of “things he saw.” What does that mean?
- It also says some memories leave scars that never heal. What does that mean?
- In the 3rd stanza, it says even though he’s home and the war is over he doesn’t feel like that, and still hears cries. What condition might this soldier have? Explain.
Battle Scars - In the 3rd stanza he mentions his wound is from Cupid. What type of “battle” is being talked about here?
- The song writers use specific words and phrases to create wartime imagery. Write down TWO places that use war imagery and explain them.
- The song’s chorus says that the battle scars aren’t fading or going away. Are the wounds from the type of battle described in question 4 always permanent?
